Early Autumn Passage in Northumberland - DATE TBA
Join us at Druridge Bay to see migration in action. Expect to see good numbers of waders and ducks, we have seen a number of exciting birds on this tour in the past including Wood Sandpiper, Spotted Redshank, and Spoonbill. There is also the likelihood of seeing departing summer migrants, during the 2022 tour we managed to see Wood Warbler, Spotted Flycatcher and Pied Flycatcher in just one small set of bushes. During the tour we will be visiting all the key sites including Cresswell Pond, Druridge Pool and East Chevington. But we keep the tour itinerary fairly fluid should anything of interest turn up in the immediate vicinity.

This time of year can be a rewarding time to be out in the field, theres a good chance that if the winds have been favourable the first returning Pink-footed Geese will be back, whilst at the same time Arctic Skuas can be wheeling around offshore. Duck passage is often evident over the sea and on the freshwater marshes, we are always listening for the distinctive calls of overflying Whimbrels and if its been easterly the chance of migrant passerines is always there.
