Upper Teesdale - Durham Uplands, 27 April 2024

The Durham uplands are a special place at any time of year, but they come to life in spring and summer when upland waders and grouse are breeding. On this tour we will be starting early morning in the hope of seeing lekking Black Grouse, and will follow this event up with a walk in the hope of seeing the first returning Ring Ouzels. There is a chance of Merlin and Short-eared Owl and we should see breeding waders such as Oystercatcher, Golden Plover, and the Curlew. The river should provide chances of Dipper and Grey Wagtail.

Once we have finished the trip we will head to a café where guests can grab a well deserved breakfast should they wish to do so. The nature of this trip means that we will start around dawn and the trip will finish around 11AM due to an early start.
